If you live in the Dallas area, then one of my favorite places to take my kid is Cheeky Monkeys.
So what is Cheeky Monkeys?
Cheeky Monkeys is a soft indoor play center designed specifically for kids ages 10 months – 8 years old. This indoor play place is located in the Fairview shopping center. They also have two other locations located in Plano and Fort Worth.
In the summer months, it’s one of my favorite places to bring my kid. But in the winter? It becomes a lifesaver! We have a lot of days where it gets too cold to play outside for more than a few minutes. And that means we’re stuck inside ALL DAY LONG. It’s a great way to keep your kids entertained during the colder and hotter months. Especially if they are full of energy like my kid.
If you’re planning to take your kids, here are some things I’ve learned after spending hours there with my two-year-old over the last few months!
All about the activities
This brand new facility is full of various activities to keep children entertained for hours. It’s has a huge play area. It offers many unique opportunities for children of all ages. The one thing that makes it unique is that it has both imaginative play as well as a jungle gym to get all of your children’s energy out. One side of the room is filled with jungle gyms and obstacle courses. The other side of the room has all different playhouses.
Younger kids love imaginative play. Cheeky Monkeys has 5 different rooms; a kitchen/cooking area, a room with large legos to build, a room with a train set, a room with connect four/other toys, and a market. In addition to these rooms they also offer coloring, books, and puzzles.
There is a special section where your child can jump on big inflatable pillows, climb up banana steps, and slide down multiple slides. This place has a lot of space to run around and climb on things. There is a separate section for the younger kids who aren’t quite ready for the play structure.
The younger section is geared more towards toddlers. The whole area is soft padded and includes things like a ball pit, a mini slide, a walk on piano, padded shapes to climb on, and interactive items on the wall. Their play area includes an enormous ball pit. The ball pit is a huge hit. Children spend hours jumping into soft foam balls with their friends.
Their 5-level indoor play structure is geared more towards kids who are ready to climb and jump. It is filled with brightly colored climbing walls, slides, and trampolines to explore. The building also offers a Treetop Adventure area for older kids who are ready to test their skills. This area includes ropes courses, climbing walls, and tightropes for children to conquer.
Sip some coffee and watch them play
Cheeky Monkeys also has a cafe that offers lunch options for adults and kids alike. The cafe serves snacks such as breakfast items, sandwiches, pizza, salads, appetizers, beverages (including coffee), and desserts. You are welcome to relax in the cafe area while your kids play. The cafe is strategically placed in the center of the room. This makes it easy to see your children play while you enjoy a cup of coffee along with free wifi.
Book a birthday party at Cheeky Monkeys
Cheeky Monkeys is a fun activity for the whole family. They are a great place to have a birthday party! Cheeky Monkeys has two different private party rooms and includes access to the playground area. They also have face painters, balloon artists, and magicians that can come and entertain the guests at your party! They have many different types of packages that you can choose from. You can choose between their Spectacular, Premier, and Themed. From super heros, to princesses, to popular characters, this indoor play place offers something for everyone.
