Cathy’s Critters | A Family Farm Experience

Cathy’s Critters is a great place to take the kids for a day of fun on the farm. This awesome farm is a home-based wildlife rescue run by Cathy Vaquera in Princeton, Texas. First established in 2010 to aid ducks and rabbits in the area, her organization has since grown to include all sorts of animals. The best part is that you can hand-feed most of the them. Her farm is a unique experience and fun for the whole family!

At the farm, there is plenty to do and see and the staff is always happy to answer questions. The animals are all very friendly, and it’s great for kids to get up close and personal with them. The petting zoo is a highlight, but there is also a playground, hayrides, and more. If you are looking for a fun filled day with plenty to do and see, head on over to Cathy’s Critters.

Cathy’s Critters animals

The petting zoo

The petting zoo is a favorite at Cathy’s Critters, and for good reason. There are all sorts of animals to meet, from llamas and goats to pigs and bunnies. This small and enclosed area is perfect for the younger ones. Here you will find most of the baby animals. Kids love getting up close and personal with them, and the animals seem to enjoy the attention too. The petting zoo isn’t the only attraction though.

The outback section

In addition to the petting zoo, the farm has an outback section. This section is a huge gated area where you can experience kangaroos, emus, goats, sheep, and free-roaming cattle. Pigs, chickens, dogs, parrots, and a few horses also roam the entire farm and they are very friendly.

The exotics room

While it is exciting getting to interact with these animals, the best part is the exotic room. Inside the exotics room, you will find animals like a kinkajou, fox, hedgehog, ferret, and many more. These animals can be held and the staff will educate you on each animal.

Additional activities at Cathy’s Critters

In addition to the petting zoo and the rest of the animals, there are also plenty of other activities to keep your kids busy at Cathy’s Critters. The playground is always a hit, as is the hayride around the farm. Not to mention the pony rides which are only available on Saturdays.

Birthday parties

Cathy’s critters also offers private birthday parties available upon request. Book a private party at their farm or have them bring the zoo to your backyard. Their private party on the farm is a great place to have a party. They also have a wide range of options to enjoy your mobile petting zoo experience.

Horseback riding on the farm

In conjunction with all of the amazing experiences Cathy’s critters offers, they also offer horseback riding for older kids and adults. Both private and group riding lessons are offered. The instructors will teach you how to groom, tack up, and properly ride your horse all the while having fun doing it!
